Governor Pritzker Announces $5 Million Available for Tourism Grant Programs


CHICAGO – Today, Governor JB Pritzker and the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) announced $5 million is available in tourism funding through three grant programs: the Route 66 Grant Program ($2 million), the International Tourism Grant Program ($1 million), and the Tourism Marketing Partnership Grant Program ($2 million). Eligible entities can apply for grants to promote and preserve the historic Route 66 corridor through the Route 66 Grant Program, grants to promote Illinois to international visitors through the International Tourism Grant Program, and grants to develop attractions, destinations, and events through the Tourism Marketing Partnership Grant Program in an effort to boost tourism and welcome more visitors to Illinois. Grantees will be selected through a competitive Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) process.

New 5% tax credit uplift positions Illinois as national leader in sustainable film production

Governor Pritzker Launches First-in-the-Nation Film Production Tax Credit to Incentivize Sustainable Filmmaking

CHICAGO – In celebration of Earth Day, Governor JB Pritzker today announced the launch of the first-in-the-nation incentive to promote environmentally sustainable film and television production. Under the expanded program, productions recognized as a “certified green production” through the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity’s (DCEO) Illinois Film Office will be eligible for an additional 5% tax credit – making Illinois the first state to incentivize film and television productions for meeting certain sustainability standards.

Third round of Cannabis Social Equity Loan Program provides $31.8 million in direct forgivable loans 

Governor Pritzker Awards 95 Loans to Licensed Social Equity Cannabis Businesses Across All License Types 

CHICAGO – Today, Governor JB Pritzker and the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) announced the recipients of $31.8 million in loans through Round III of the Cannabis Social Equity Loan Program. Through the program, 95 qualified, licensed social equity businesses across all license types – craft growers, dispensaries, infusers, and transporters – are receiving Direct Forgivable Loans (DFL) financed by the State of Illinois. Recipients were determined based on factors including social equity status, financial need, financial resources, and progress toward becoming operational.
